Moon
Dancer is one of several dogs rescued from a Virginia puppy mill in February
1998. The wonderful rescuers, who spearheaded this venture, deserve
a lot of thanks! They did a great job brushing; bathing; and
trimming these dogs! Moon
Dancer had spent the first three years of his life in a cage. When
he first came to us, he was very frightened, and emotionally, he was just
a baby. He would get into arguments with his toys, like puppies do.
For a dog that spent his life in a puppy mill, he learned to socialize
well. He immediately knew how to be "break your heart cute!"
It was so hard to get work done with him around because when he would put
his paw on my leg and I would look at that sweet face, I would just HAVE
to pet him. He is so funny when he blusters (sneezes) and turns up
that grin to full power. He tries to lift his lip so high that he
looks quite vicious. {If you have the Cash's, The New Complete
Keeshond, look at the photo on page 208. That is what he does.}
It always cracks people up.
He
stayed with us for eight months until we found the perfect forever home
for him. He has been in his forever home for nine months now, where
he is very loved, and is blossoming. He is doing therapy dog work
at nursing homes. He has also been included in the 2000 Keeshond
Rescue Calendar which raises money to help more dogs like him. For more
information, see the Keeshond
Rescue Home Page. Moon Dancer is
a sweet, gentle soul and we have been blessed to know him.
